The county is finalizing design concepts for gateway signage and banners to brand Bailey’s Crossroads and Seven Corners, and we want to hear from the community.
The new gateway signs and banners will help identify the boundaries of each area, highlight special places and convey each community’s unique character, while putting them into context within the greater Mason District of Fairfax County. The goal of this project is to define each area with a recognizable identity and brand, and community input is integral to the process.
You can view the design concepts and submit thoughts through an online survey, which closes on Aug. 31. The community input will help shape a final design that reflects local identity and character.
Community engagement for the gateway signage project began in May 2025 with an initial survey (Bailey’s Crossroads Survey Results and Seven Corners Survey Results) to determine the special characteristics that define each area. At a community workshop in June, staff asked participants to choose precedent images that reflected several themes the graphic designers identified from the survey results. Following this additional community input, the latest gateway signage concepts were unveiled at a public meeting in July, alongside the online survey.
This project is made possible through our Department of Planning and Development’s partnership with Crossroads and Corners Coalition. For the design work, the county has retained the services of graphic design consultants Torti Gallas + Partners and Ashton Design.
