Project Background
This project was identified when management from an adjacent property expressed concerns to the county about a steep and unstable streambank from erosive stream conditions. In November 2019, staff from the Stormwater Planning Division initiated the design of the project.
Project Description
Downstream and south of the Little River Turnpike Service Road, Turkeycock Creek is continuing to erode the eastern streambank adjacent to the Brookside Office Park Complex. This project will address the unvegetated, nearly vertical bank with the installation of a soldier pile and lagging retaining wall to prevent further erosion. The project also includes approximately 300 linear feet of stream restoration.
