School Bus Stop-Arm Safety Cameras: How It Works (text only)

School Bus Stop-Arm Safety Cameras

How It Works

Step 1: Video cameras are installed at key exterior locations on the driver-side of the school bus.

Step 2: The system identifies any vehicle passing a stopped school bus with its stop-arm extended and lights flashing in the enforced zone triggering video collection.

Step 3: Event images are extracted from the captured video and include the vehicle as it passes the stopped school bus, the license plate and the extended stop-arm. Additional event data includes the GPS location of the school bus and the date and time of the event.
