If you’re looking for a one-stop shop with information about all the sustainability work taking place within Fairfax County, look no further than the FY 2022 Fairfax County Sustainability Initiatives report (FCSI). Published on February 15, 2022, the report offers an overview of county policies, ordinances, plans, programs, and other activities related to sustainability.
Within the report you’ll find background information on county governance and detailed updates on county efforts in support of the Board’s Environmental Vision, the Operational Energy Strategy, the Carbon Neutral Counties Declaration, and more. The FCSI focuses on work being done to improve the sustainability of county operations, but also describes county plans and initiatives that pertain to sustainability within our community.
The FCSI is the most comprehensive document available covering the county’s environmental, climate, energy, and related work. The report contents range from air quality to zoning, and everything in between. Major topics within the report include:
