Board of Supervisors - Mount Vernon District Alert:

On July 31, 2018, the Board of Supervisors authorized Plan Amendment (PA) 2018-IV-MV4 to begin research for the potential establishment of a county Historic Overlay District (HOD) for Hollin Hills, located in the Mount Vernon District and outlined on the attached map.
The 326-acre residential neighborhood contains 463 single family dwellings and a swim club. The subdivision was listed as a historic district on the County Inventory of Historic Sites on September 12, 1972 and was listed in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) as a historic district on September 30, 2013. The National Register district boundary consists of the Hollin Hills Subdivision, developed between 1949 and 1971 as shown on the map on reverse in orange. All of the properties within the NRHP district are under consideration for inclusion in the HOD. In addition to the properties within the NRHP boundaries, staff is proposing 7 more properties to create a potential HOD. The additional potential properties are highlighted in blue.
At the March 30, 2020 Community meeting, staff will present preliminary findings and drafts:
