Groundbreaking Invitation

The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, Redevelopment and Housing Authority and development partners Pennrose and Community Housing Partners invite you to attend the official celebration for the start of construction on the Residences at North Hill. You may attend in-person or virtuallyPlease indicate your preference by clicking the "Registrationlink below so that we may update you with event information as we approach the day of the groundbreaking. Please RSVP by July 28.

Please note, if you plan on attending the event in-person, the ceremony will be held observing appropriate social distancing. Attendees are asked to please wear a mask or face covering. Please do not attend if feeling ill or have been around someone who has been ill within the last 14 days prior to the event.

Parking will be limited near the site of the event (by the intersection of Dart Drive and Richmond Highway). Streetside parking is available in the surrounding community to the west of Richmond Highway along Lockheed Boulevard, Fordson Road, Piper Lane and Fairchild Drive. Attendees may also choose to park at Hybla Valley Elementary School located at 3415 Lockheed Boulevard, Alexandria, VA 22306 (about a 5 minute walk to the event location).

To view the proceedings virtually, the ceremony will be televised on Fairfax County Government Channel 1016 (Cox), and Channel 16 (Verizon/Comcast) and will be streamed on the Fairfax County Cable Channel 16 Website. The groundbreaking will also be viewable on Facebook @SupervisorDanStorck and @FairfaxCountyHousing.


The Residence at North Hill will include 216 affordable multifamily apartments, 63 affordable senior independent living apartments, 175 market rate townhomes and a 12-acre public park on 33 acres of unimproved land along Richmond Highway in the Mount Vernon District. The project represents a keystone housing component in the transformation of the Route One Corridor in Fairfax County.
