Family Child Care Business Workshops

The following business workshops provide information to family child care providers just beginning their businesses as well as established providers looking for more training opportunities. These training hours are creditable toward Fairfax County Home Child Care Permit requirements. Please call 703-324-8100 for more information.

Desarrollo del Habla y Lenguaje desde el nacimiento - los 36 meses de edad

Durante esta presentación se presentará información del desarrollo del habla y lenguaje desde el nacimiento hasta los 36 meses de edad. Al final de la presentación, los participantes demostraran comprensión/entendimiento de cómo se desarrolla el vocabulario y los sonidos del habla, así como abordar temas importantes en el área del desarrollo incluyendo desarrollo del lenguaje en niños expuestos a dos idiomas y las señales tempranas que pudiesen indicar posible Espectro del Autismo. Se proporcionarán recursos para profesionales de la primera infancia y las familias, y se abordarán estrategias prácticas que se pueden utilizar en las actividades y rutinas diarias de cuidado de niños.

Speech and Language Development Birth - 36 months

This presentation will summarize typical language development between the ages of birth to 36 months. Participants will demonstrate understanding of the development of vocabulary and speech sound development, as well as addressing “hot topics” in the field of language development including bilingual language development and early signs of possible Autism Spectrum Disorder. Resources for early childhood professionals and families will be provided, and practical strategies that can be used in daily childcare activities and routines will be discussed.
