Community Involvement

Neighborhood and Community Services sponsors and supports many county/community partnerships and initiatives designed to enhance coordination of service delivery and increase our combined capacity for strengthening the overall well-being of individuals, families and communities in Fairfax County:


The NCS Prevention Unit brings together the collective resources and expertise of local government, schools, faith and community organizations and professionals to promote healthy, successful children and youth in Fairfax County.

Community Interfaith Coordination

The Community Interfaith Coordination Office reaches out to all faith communities in Fairfax County to share information about essential services offered by the county as well as enhancing coordination and partnerships to provide critical services to those in need.

Community Capacity Building

The Community Capacity Building Unit works to enhance the ability of non-profits to meet the needs of Fairfax County communities.

Fairfax Families4Kids

Fairfax Families4Kids is a mentoring program for adolescents and young adults (ages 12-21) in foster care or kinship families.
