We're currently recruiting for dog handler volunteers for our Lorton Campus! Join us for our virtual New Volunteer Information Session and learn about the role and volunteer recruitment process below.
New dog handler volunteers must be comfortable and confident working with large, strong dogs that may pull, jump, or tug on the leash. Volunteers are expected to commit to a weekly recurring shift. Ideal applicants will have availability on one of the following days and for 1–2 hours within these time ranges:
During this virtual New Volunteer Information Session, you'll learn about FCAS, how our volunteer program works, the requirements for dog handler positions, and have an opportunity to ask questions.
After the virtual New Volunteer Information Session, we’ll share details on the next step, which is attending our mid‑month in‑person orientation. From there, new volunteers will be paired with a mentor for hands‑on dog handler volunteer training.
