School Projects and Scout Programs

We're happy to support students and scout groups working on school projects and service activities. Most of the ways young people can help are simple, at‑home projects that make a meaningful difference. While our capacity is limited and we can only offer a few structured options, we provide clear guidelines, virtual interview opportunities with advance notice, and welcoming drop‑off visits for completed projects and donations.

What we can offer:

  • 30‑minute interviews by phone, Zoom, or email (with at least two weeks’ notice)
  • Guidance through our website, annual report, and mission information
  • Donation drop‑off visits and Humane Hero Awards

Be sure to review our donation guidelines before dropping off any items.

What we cannot accommodate:

  • In‑person interviews
  • Requests with less than two weeks’ notice
  • Job shadowing, volunteering, or service hours
  • Requests from students outside Fairfax County

To find even more ways kids can get involved, visit our How Kids Can Help page.

Humane Hero Award

Be sure to pick up a Humane Hero Award to commemorate any achievement you or your community group has accomplished to support FCAS. Just ask the front desk staff at either campus.
