Foster volunteers make a tremendous difference for our shelter pets. By welcoming animals into their homes or taking dogs out for community walks, fosters give pets the extra time, comfort, and care they need to heal, grow, and decompress. This support helps animals thrive and prepares them for happy new beginnings. In our New Foster Information Session, you will learn more about FCAS, how our Foster Program works, details on the requirements to foster pets, and the types of pets who need foster.

To foster with us, you should be able to communicate by email, text, and phone and be prepared to regularly foster the species you sign up for. You’ll also need to transport foster pets to and from our shelter for scheduled medical care, and if fostering in your home, provide a safe, separate space for them.

The first step is attending a New Foster Information Session. From there, you’ll get the foster application and information on any required training, and then you’ll start receiving updates about pets needing placement so you can begin fostering once matched. For more information on the foster program process and requirements, visit our Foster page
