Fairfax County is considering renaming Bailey’s Community Center after Minnie Peyton.  Peyton was a respected leader in Springdale, a Black community in Bailey’s Crossroads that was established as a home to freed slaves following the Civil War.  Join host Lynne Garvey-Hodge, Chairperson of the Fairfax County History Commission with her special guest Willie Coleman,  President of the Springdale Civic Association as they remember Minnie Peyton.
