Fairfax County leaders break ground on October 22, 2025 at the site of a new Gunston Fire Station facility in Lorton. The two-year project will be built next to the current Station 20 that serves residents of Mason Neck area and conducts Fire and Rescue Department’s (FRD) marine-based operations. The event was hosted by FRD and the Department of Public Works and Environmental Services. Mount Vernon District Supervisor Dan Storck joins the celebration for the futuristic new building.
