First convened in May 2013, the SCYPT is comprised of leaders from multiple sectors within Fairfax County. The team’s role is to set community-wide goals and priorities for public policy as it relates to children, youth and families.
Membership on the team is divided among representatives from Fairfax County Government, Fairfax County Public Schools and the community.
- Two members from both the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors and the Fairfax County School Board participate.
- Community members are identified to provide the perspective of various sectors impacting youth well-being, including health care, nonprofit, faith and philanthropy.
