Land Development Services (LDS) has created a new Geographic Information Systems (GIS) home page for all of its online mapping tools. LDS rebuilt each tool using a newer, more modern system. This means there is now one easy place to find all LDS mapping tools, and some of the web addresses (URLs) for these tools have changed.
The updated tools with new URLs include:
- Site Records Viewer – Access site-related records, plans and historical development information
- Flood Risk Awareness Tool – View potential flood risks affecting properties and development decisions
- Watersheds & Resource Protection Areas Viewer – Identify watershed boundaries and resource protection areas that may affect land development
Since these applications are heavily relied upon by residents, engineers, surveyors, planners and other stakeholders, users are encouraged to:
- Update bookmarks and saved links to the new LDS GIS home page and app URLs.
- Replace any outdated LDS GIS links on websites, documents, and shared resources.
The previous versions of these applications and their former web addresses will be retired and may no longer function as expected.
Please contact LDSGIS@FairfaxCounty.gov with any questions.
