Vaccine and Microchip Clinics

Our Pet Resource Center offers Fairfax County residents low‑cost pet vaccinations and microchipping, without the added expense of a veterinary exam.

All clinics are first‑come, first‑served and are cash only. Clinics are held at either Fairfax Center Fire Station 40 or our Lorton Campus.

Clinic Information and Services

  • Clinics are walk‑up, and no pre‑registration or appointments are needed.
  • All clinics are cash only.
  • Clinics are open to both dogs and cats.
  • Dogs must be on fixed (non‑extendable) leashes, and cats must arrive in secure carriers to help keep everyone safe and comfortable.
  • Please note that only limited exams are provided at Vaccine and Microchip Clinics.

Vaccine and Microchip Clinics are held monthly at Fairfax Center Fire Station 40 or Fairfax County Animal Shelter - Lorton Campus:

Clinics are cash only. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept credit cards or checks. 

You do not need to arrive early. All pets that arrive within the clinic timeframe, 9 to 11 a.m., will be seen!

Services offered for dogs: 

  • Rabies vaccine - $20
  • DHPPi (Canine Distemper) - $20
  • Microchip - $20
  • Fairfax County dog licenses - $10

Services offered for cats:

  • Rabies vaccine - $20
  • FVRCP (Feline Distemper) - $20
  • Microchip - $20

  1. Your pet's vaccination records. If you have them, please bring your pet's vaccination records. Please note: Proof of prior vaccination is necessary to obtain 3-year Rabies, 3-year DHPP, and 3-year FVRCP vaccines. If you do not have previous vaccination records, your pet(s) will be administered a 1-year Rabies vaccine and/or a DHPP or FVRCP that requires a booster in 3-4 weeks.
  2. Cash for payment. We are unable to accept credit cards or checks.
  3. Safely secure your pets. Cats should be in carriers and dogs should be leashed (no flexi/extendable leashes, please). 

​​​​​​Proof of prior vaccination is necessary to obtain 3-year Rabies, 3-year DHPP, and 3-year FVRCP vaccines. If you do not have previous vaccination records, your pet(s) will be administered a 1-year Rabies vaccine and/or a DHPP or FVRCP that requires a booster in 3-4 weeks.

Clinics are walk-up and there is no pre-registration or appointment required!

  1. When you arrive to the clinic, you will be directed to a designated parking spot. If you arrive before the clinic start time, please park in a numbered spot in sequence.
  2. A team member will bring a form for each of your pets to your car.
  3. When it is your turn, you will be directed to bring your pet(s) to the check-in table. A clinic team member will go over the services you are requesting for your pet(s) and confirm vaccine status. (Please bring your most recent vaccine records!)
  4. You will then submit payment for services (cash only) at the payment table.
  5. Next, you and your pet(s) will move to the veterinary station where your pet will receive requested services as you continue to the check-out table.
  6. At check-out, a clinic team member will finalize your paperwork and provide you with a dog license, if one was purchased.
  7. A clinic team member will bring your pet to you at the check-out table when services are completed.
