Meeting Highlights

The Board of Supervisors took many actions at its meeting, including:

• Adopted the 2019 Legislative Program for the Virginia General Assembly.
• Authorized spring 2019 public hearings on the proposed Reston Planned Residential Community District zoning ordinance amendment.
• Received a presentation of the Fiscal Year 2018 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report.
• Received presentation of the Economic Success Strategic Plan Fall 2018 Update.

The Board recognized:

• The Woodson High School Girls Tennis Team for winning its first state championship.
• The Woodson High School Girls Lacrosse Team for winning the state championship.
• Emma Seetoo from Westfield High School for winning the individual state championship.
• The Fairfax County Park Authority for receiving national accreditation from the Commission for Accreditation of Parks and Recreation Agencies.

The Board designated:

• Jan. 14-20, 2019, as Teen Cancer Awareness Week.
