In May 2020, the Board of Supervisors reestablished and renamed the Economic Advisory Committee as the Economic Initiatives Committee. Previously, the Board addressed economic development issues as part of the Economic Advisory Commission (EAC) agenda or in other Board Committee meetings.
As the Board places increased emphasis on economic development, especially in light of the COVID-19 pandemic and associated challenges, the Economic Initiatives Committee will provide Board members with an expanded opportunity to focus on critical challenges of rebuilding and growing the local economy. Like the Commission, this Committee evaluates County programs and policies related to the development and growth of the County’s economy.
