Fairfax Connector will implement several service changes beginning June 27, 2026, to better match demand.
While some routes will see reduced service or be discontinued, many riders will continue to have transit options available through other nearby Fairfax Connector stops and routes to provide Metrorail connections.
Routes Being Discontinued
Due to consistently low ridership, the following routes will be discontinued:
- Route 552 (Reston-Herndon)
- Alternatives include the following routes: 558, 559, 574, 924, 950, RIBS 1 and 3 and Metrorail’s Silver Line.
- Route 622 (Fairfax)
- Customers may use Route 605 as an alternative.
Service Improvements and Minor Schedule Adjustments
The following routes will receive schedule changes to improve reliability or better meet customer demand:
- Routes 101 and 109 – Midday service adjustments
- Route 335 – Permanent detour implemented
- Routes 401, 402 and 553 – Schedule adjustments
- Routes 461, 463, 924 and 950 – Service adjustments
- Route 983 – Increased weekend frequency
Service Reductions
The following routes will operate reduced service based on ridership patterns:
- Route 432 – Reduced service
- Route 615 –Sunday service discontinued
- Route 625 – Midday service only
- Route 642 – Service limited to peak periods and two midday trips; weekend service discontinued

Customers are encouraged to review updated schedules and route information before traveling on or after June 27, 2026.
