The BUILD Program accelerates private investment, transforming underused parcels into vibrant commercial and mixed use communities.

Fairfax County has launched the BUILD: Site Assembly and Redevelopment Program to help developers realize new investment and community opportunities by providing financial incentives for new mixed use residential and commercial projects. It offers a 10-year partial real estate tax abatement and reduced permit fees for qualified projects.  

This updated program replaces the former Economic Incentive Program, adding more eligible locations and greater flexibility to attract private investment. Approved projects now receive a custom timeline that provides 3-4 years to complete construction before the partial tax abatement period begins.
