AED

Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) for public use have been installed in most Fairfax County worksites and all Fairfax County Public Schools. AED
 
The Risk Management Division, Department of Finance, oversees the County program, which includes both equipment and training.
If a person collapses, will not wake up when gently shaken and is not breathing normally,
  • Send someone IMMEDIATELY to call 911 and get the AED.
  • While you are waiting, begin CPR.
  • Once the AED arrives, open the case, push the green on/off button
            and follow the instructions
When you turn on the AED, it will guide you through each step of the rescue. The Philips FRx AED in County government and school buildings will detect where you are in each step of the rescue and prompt you with instructions, including CPR coaching.
