The 2026 FIFA World Cup is underway until July 19 -- the global sporting event that captures passion and play!
Of course, in Fairfax County, many residents will be cheering for many countries because of our diverse backgrounds. As matches begin across the United States, Canada and Mexico, here are a few tips and resources.
Watch Parties
There are many watch parties for many teams across the county. If you want to cheer on the U.S. Men's National Team, then Tysons is one spot to consider for matches on June 12, June 19 and June 25.
Visit Fairfax provides a calendar with several other watch parties.
Drive Sober
Make a plan before you attend a watch party or gathering. If you choose to drink alcohol, designate a non-drinking sober driver. Know your own limits, too, and know what you are drinking. Utilize public transportation, including Metro. Also choose a rideshare or taxi -- which will cost far less than a DUI.
