Fairfax County’s Planning and Land Use System (PLUS) will be offline Thursday, Nov. 5, from 5 p.m. to Monday, Nov. 9, at 7 a.m., while it transitions to a new cloud-based platform.
The move will make PLUS faster, more reliable and better equipped to handle high demand. For residents and businesses, this means a smoother experience when applying for permits, tracking applications or checking records. The new platform will also reduce routine maintenance work for staff, giving them more time to focus on processing applications and serving customers.
During the transition, no applications or services will be available. Users are encouraged to plan ahead and submit time-sensitive requests before the scheduled outage.
After the transition, PLUS will return online with the same familiar design and only minor cosmetic changes. The county will continue to own and safeguard all data in the system.
