VDOT leases lockers at state-owned/maintained park and ride lots in Fairfax County as well as Prince William and Loudoun Counties. For Information and availability, contact VDOT’s Bicycle and Pedestrian Program Coordinator at (703) 383-2233.

If you do not have access to a printer you can call us at 703-324-BIKE(2453), TTY: 711, and we'll be happy to send you the forms.

Not yet. We do intend to have a web-based application and payment system option in the future, but currently, you’ll have to submit your completed application, user agreement and payment by mail.

The yearly rental fee is $60 (think of it as just $5 per month). In addition there is a one-time administrative fee of $10 (this is non-refundable) and a key deposit of $50 (refundable when you return your key).

So if you are a firt time user you will pay $120. After that it is just $60 per year to continue to rent the locker. Please make checks payable to Fairfax County.

Fairfax County specs their bicycle lockers with a highly secure key system. It costs a little more but it provides enhanced security for the user. Therefore, replacement costs are higher, and, if you run off with the key, we need to do a whole lot of work to make the locker safe and secure for the next user. The moral of the story…return your key when the lease expires.

You and the bicycle locker manager. The Fairfax County Department of Transportation reserves the right to inspect and maintain the lockers and make sure they are being used for their intended purpose. Believe it or not, there have been cases of people using them to store everything but a bicycle.

If the locker is vandalized and/or a theft has occurred, please notify Fairfax County Police at their non-emergency phone number (703) 691-2131. If there is a maintenance problem (e.g. lock jammed, door sticking, etc.), call (703) 324-BIKE (2453) or use our contact form to notify us.

The bicycle lockers are owned and operated by the Fairfax County Department of Transportation.
