Apollo, a border collie mix who is 12 years young, is about to reach his 11-month anniversary at the Fairfax County Animal Shelter (FCAS). He has been in the shelter longer than any other dog. Apollo has beautiful dark eyes and enjoys long walks in the park, is passionate about food in all it’s forms, and according to shelter staff, will “play fetch until your arm falls off.” Shelter staff are hoping Apollo can celebrate Valentine's Day in a home.
FCAS can help you find your perfect valentine at the animal shelter! Through Valentine's Day, adopters get to name their own adoption fee on all pets over six months of age. Nearly 100 shelter pets are waiting for their “purrfect” match. Pets with fur, feathers and scales are waiting for a home.
“We have so many animals in the shelter waiting for their chance to go home. If you’re active and enjoy the outdoors, we have several dogs waiting for the next adventure. Or, if your idea of a fun night is cuddling on the couch watching Netflix, we’ve got you covered too. There’s truly someone for everyone at Fairfax County Animal Shelter.”
