Student Interview Requests
Students often contact us seeking information for school projects related to our services and animal welfare topics. With at least two weeks' notice, we can arrange for them to have a 30-minute session with a member of our outreach program staff. This session takes place over the phone, Zoom or through email, and it's aimed at helping students gather the information they need for their projects.
Please note, we are unable to accommodate requests for:
- In-person interviews
- Last-minute needs (less than two weeks notice)
- Job shadowing
- Volunteering
- Community service hours
- Requests from students outside of Fairfax County
Requesting Information for a School Project
Most of the information students usually need is available on our website! We encourage students to explore it thoroughly before requesting information:
- Read more about Fairfax County Animal Shelter and our mission statement
- Program and annual statistics can be found in our Annual Report
If your request fits within the parameters of what we are able to accommodate, please email dascommunications@fairfaxcounty.gov. Please allow a minimum of 72 business hours for a staff member to respond once the request has been submitted.
