Earlier this month, during the Domestic and Sexual Violence Annual Meeting, the planning committee selected Community Awards winners. The winners, incredible changemakers, are pushing the movement forward with courage, heart, and unstoppable commitment.

Lopa is a powerful advocate and trusted voice for survivors, helping create safety, connection and healing through her work with Ashiyanaa, a nonprofit that empowers South Asians to lead peaceful lives with dignity, hope, and self-sufficiency through comprehensive and culturally sensitive services. Her leadership and compassion are transforming lives and building hope in our community.

These leaders remind us what’s possible when communities come together to support survivors, challenge injustice, and reimagining a world free from violence. Help us celebrate them by uplifting their work and continuing to stand with survivors every day.

Fairfax County’s Domestic and Sexual Violence Services division supports adults, teens, and children who have been impacted by domestic and sexual violence, stalking, and human trafficking. Services are confidential, free, and provided regardless of race, gender, ethnicity, national origin, age, disability, religion, gender identity, or sexual orientation.
