Juvenile Charged With Setting Vehicle Fire

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department fire investigators charged a Centreville juvenile, Thursday, December 18, 2008, with burning personal property in excess of $200.00, (Class 4 felony, Virginia Code § 18.2-81).

The arrest is in connection with intentionally setting a vehicle on fire at approximately 12:30 a.m., Sunday, August 30, 2008, at 5752 Pleasant Valley Road, Centreville, Virginia.  There were no injuries.

Damage is estimated at $7,800. The 16 year-old juvenile was released to his parents pending court hearing.

Class 4 felonies may convey a term of imprisonment of not less than two years nor more than ten years and, subject to subdivision (g), a fine of not more than $100,000.
