Annandale House Fire

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department units responded to a house fire Monday, June 14, 2010, at approximately 4 p.m. in the Annandale area of Fairfax County. The single-family home is located at 6435 Columbia Pike.

Firefighters encountered fire coming from the rear of the two-story home upon arrival. Firefighters brought the fire under control in approximately 15 minutes. The fire originated in the basement and was primarily contained to that area. The structure was occupied by multiple families. One adult male was transported to the Washington Hospital Center for non-life threatening injuries. There were no firefighter injuries.

Damage is estimated at $135,000.

The fire is under investigation.
