Man Charged in Setting Fires

Date:  February 02, 2015

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department fire investigators charged, Irving Nicolas Facundo Carvajal, 18, with setting fires at two garden apartments in the Alexandria area in 2014.

He was charged with two counts of Virginia Code, 18.2-82, burning a building while in such building with intent to commit a felony; and two counts of 18.2-86, setting fire to woods, fences, grass, etc.

The charges are in connection to fires at 2615 and 2613 Arlington Drive, Alexandria, on December 31, 2014. Damages were estimated at $500.

There were no injuries.
