COVID-19 Vaccine Key Updates
10/3/2025 Update
The 2025-2026 COVID-19 vaccine is now available at pharmacies for adults without a prescription, if they are:
- 65 years of age or older OR
- 18–64 years of age with at least one underlying condition that puts them at high risk for severe outcomes from COVID-19.
Adults aged 18 years or older who do not meet the categories above can only receive a COVID-19 vaccine at a pharmacy with a prescription.
Please check with the pharmacies to ensure availability of appointments and vaccine supply, and any additional requirements. You should verify with your insurance company if the vaccine is covered.
The CDC Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) met on September 18-19 to discuss and vote on 2025-26 COVID-19 vaccine guidelines. Official recommendations are expected after the meeting, but there is no definitive timeline.
