Welcome to the Child Care Assistance and Referral (CCAR) Program. We provide:

  • Resources and Referrals to families about various center-based and family child care programs located throughout the county.
  • Financial assistance for child care to eligible Fairfax County families.
  • Support to child care programs and providers.

CCAR Staff are here to provide you services online and by phone! For contact information for families and child care programs, download a copy of the Assistance from a Distance Flyer in English and in Spanish.

Temporary Expanded Child Care Eligibility

Available Now!

Applications received through June 30, 2024 are eligible for the following expanded eligibility criteria: 

  • Families currently looking for work 
  • Expanded Income 

Additionally, families co-payment (family’s share of the child care fee) will be waived through December 31, 2022.
