February Winter Wildlife Class: Not Every Snake With a Pattern is a Copperhead! Snake Identification Workshop

Snakes are one of the most feared animals on the planet. Unfortunately, due to this fear and the lack of knowledge humans have about these amazing creatures, thousands are killed each year. Join Bill Crisp for a learning session about Northern Virginia native snakes. “Not every snake with a pattern is a Copperhead!”

This session will focus on:
    • What a snake is and why they are beneficial
    • How to accurately identify local snakes and their mimics
    • Best practices for deterring snakes from your property
    • Busting those crazy snake myths!
    • Everything you need to know about Eastern Copperheads
    • And more!

Snake ambassadors will be on display for an up-close look in a safe, controlled environment. Additional displays will feature information on snakes and reptiles of Northern Virgina
