The Board of Supervisors will meet at 12:00 p.m. on September 29, 2020 in the Board Auditorium of the Fairfax County Government Center.

Please note, for the safety of all in attendance, masks are required while in the Government Center building, including while attending or providing testimony at a public hearing. Masks must remain on even when speaking. Seating in the Board Auditorium has been marked to provide for adequate distancing.

All meetings are televised on Channel 16streamed live online and available to view on demand following the meeting. Live audio of the meeting may also be accessed by dialing 703-324-7700.

While in-person testimony will be allowed at this meeting, alternative ways to testify are still encouraged. In addition to appearing at the meeting, you can:

  • Submit Written Testimony: e-mail ClerktotheBOS@fairfaxcounty.gov or mail your testimony to the Department of Clerk Services at 12000 Government Center Parkway, Suite 552, Fairfax, VA  22035.
  • Testify By PhoneRegister to Speak and indicate this as your preferred method of testifying when confirming with the Department of Clerk Services; please note, for the best connection into the meeting, please use a land line or, if using a cell phone, do not use the speaker function while testifying; or
  • Testify By VideoRegister to Speak and then submit a YouTube Video here.  

Those wishing to testify via phone or video must register by signing up online here or by calling the Department of Clerk Services at 703-324-3151, TTY 711. Individuals who are testifying in-person are encouraged to sign up in advance of the meeting to be added to the Speakers List, but can still appear to be heard. Speakers to testify via phone or in-person must sign up to testify no later than 12:00 p.m. the day of the hearing to be placed on the Speakers List. Speakers testifying via video must sign up and submit their video no later than 9 a.m. on the day prior to the hearing. For in-person, phone and video testimony, you are given three minutes to speak as an individual; if you are the spokesperson for a group, you are given five minutes. During Public Comment, a maximum of 10 speakers will be heard and all speakers are given three minutes each to testify. Public Comment speakers may address the Board only once during a six-month period and may speak on any issue except those: under litigation, that have been scheduled for public hearing before the Board (on that date or future dates), on personnel matters and/or on comments regarding individuals.

As required by law, copies of the full text of proposed ordinances, plans and amendments, as applicable, as well as other documents relating to the Board of Supervisors meetings, are online, but are also on file and available for review with the Department of Clerk Services.
