For Immediate Release
April 11, 2023

It’s official! Children aged 12 and under can ride Fairfax Connector for free when accompanied by a paying adult.  Today, the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors approved the fare policy change, which will take effect on May 1, 2023. The previous policy charged for children over the age of five.

This new fare policy, in addition to Connector’s Free Student Bus Pass program, essentially allows all youth in Fairfax County to have a seat on our buses at no cost.

Middle and high school students are encouraged to get a free student bus pass from their school’s main office.

This investment in our youth now, will help build a new generation of transit riders.
