No More Week: Turning Awareness into Action

(Posted 2026 March)

No More Week is a global call to end domestic violence and sexual assault by shifting culture from silence to action. Observed by advocates, service providers, survivors, and allies around the world, the week centers on a simple but powerful message: Violence and abuse are preventable, and everyone has a role in stopping them.

At its core, No More Week is about visibility. Too often, abuse thrives in secrecy—behind closed doors, within relationships, and across communities. By sharing stories, hosting conversations, and promoting education, participants help make the invisible visible. These acts challenge harmful norms, interrupt victim-blaming, and reinforce that survivors are not alone.

No More Week also emphasizes prevention. This includes teaching healthy relationship skills, consent, and bystander intervention; supporting trauma-informed services; and advocating for policies that protect survivors and hold perpetrators accountable. When communities invest in prevention and support, they reduce harm before it happens.

Perhaps most importantly, No More Week affirms hope. It reminds us that change is possible when individuals and institutions work together--listening to survivors, believing them, and responding with compassion and accountability. Whether you’re a parent, educator, employer, neighbor, or friend, your voice matters.

Saying “No More” is more than a week-long campaign slogan. It’s a commitment to create safer homes, healthier relationships, and a culture where respect is the norm. During No More Week, and every week, we can choose to speak up, show up, and take action to end violence for good.

Fairfax County’s Domestic and Sexual Violence Services division supports adults, teens, and children who have been impacted by domestic and sexual violence, stalking, and human trafficking. Services are confidential, free, and provided regardless of race, gender, ethnicity, national origin, age, disability, religion, gender identity, or sexual orientation.

If you or someone you know is experiencing interpersonal violence, call the Domestic and Sexual Violence 24-Hour Hotline at 703-360-7273 for resources and support. If you are in immediate danger, call 9-1-1.
