About Fairfax County’s Homelessness Community Engagement and Strategic Plan
Fairfax County’s Office to Prevent and End Homelessness is leading a planning effort to improve how our community prevents and responds to homelessness in Fairfax County, Fairfax City, and the City of Falls Church. The goal is to agree on clear priorities and make better decisions about programs, policies, and funding. This plan will help the community use resources wisely and reduce how often people experience homelessness and how long it lasts.
First, we will collect input via community engagement activities, including meetings, events, online surveys, and other engagement techniques. All critical parties involved in preventing and ending homelessness will have opportunities to share their input and ideas, including people experiencing homelessness, homeless service providers, the Continuum of Care board, and the community at large.
The resulting information will inform recommended strategies that strengthen the community’s response to homelessness. The final report will be presented to the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors for their consideration.
