The long-term goal of the Human Services Council "The Innovation Challenge" was to encourage the engagement of organizations that tackle issues in a collaborative effort with county government, nonprofit organizations and stakeholders to find and implement nontraditional ways of financing and delivering essential human services in Fairfax County.
To further support this effort, the Innovation Fund Pilot ("The Fund") was established to seek proposals from businesses and nonprofits to create innovative, sustainable and replicable human service programs or projects. The Fund will provide financial assistance to businesses and nonprofits to address barriers to economic mobility among the most vulnerable residents in Fairfax County.
