Land use in Fairfax County is guided by the Comprehensive Plan. In Mason District, we're taking exciting steps to attract quality development to our older areas. Local community volunteers and organizations are leading the way. There are two designated revitalization areas in Mason District: Annandale and Bailey’s Crossroads/Seven Corners.
2025 Site-Specific Plan Amendment (SSPA) Process Underway
The 2025 Site-Specific Plan Amendment (SSPA) process is currently underway in Fairfax County, including here in Mason District. This is an opportunity for community members to learn more about proposed land use changes, provide input, and help shape the future development of our neighborhoods.

The Land Use Advisory Committee
This committee meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month (except December and August) at 7:30 p.m. Meetings/agendas subject to change.
The Greener Mason Advisory Committee
In April 2024, Fairfax County’s Mason District Supervisor Andres Jimenez announced the formation of a Greener Mason Advisory Committee. At the first meeting of the Committee, Supervisor Jimenez asked this group to help identify ways to protect our environment in Mason District.
