The Small Business Commission (SBC) was created by the Board of Supervisors to advise and assist the Board, county executive, and county purchasing agent on any matter that will enhance the capability of small, minority and women-owned businesses, and those owned by service-disabled veterans to succeed. 

The SBC established the Bea Malone Award to honor its past Chairman, the late Beatrice “Bea” Malone, who diligently served the Commission, Fairfax County, and the small businesses therein for many years, leaving us in 2015.  The Bea Malone Award is bestowed annually to a Fairfax County business who has displayed outstanding service to the Fairfax County community.
