Working Families Program

Explore educational opportunities available through the Providence District's Tysons Satellite Office. Programs are being developed with community partners to help residents and local workers build skills, prepare for U.S. citizenship, strengthen their financial knowledge, advance their careers, and connect with helpful community resources. Check back as additional programs and schedules are confirmed.

U.S Citizenship Courses

Confirmed: Every Tuesday from 5:00–7:00 p.m., beginning October 20, 2026

Free, ongoing U.S. citizenship preparation classes are offered every Tuesday from 5:00–7:00 p.m., beginning October 20, 2026, at the Providence District Tysons Satellite Office.

Classes are led by an experienced volunteer citizenship instructor and are designed to help participants prepare for the U.S. naturalization process and civics test.

This is a flexible , ongoing program. Participants may join at any time and attend as needed.

Financial Empowerment Workshops

EmpowerHER, offered by Britepaths, is being planned for the Tysons Satellite Office this fall. The program is designed as a series of 90-minute sessions that support participants in building skills, confidence, and financial and career knowledge.

Expected group size: Approximately 8–15 participants

English Language Classes

Confirmed program starting in October

The English Empowerment Center (EEC) will offer English classes for beginning-level adults at the Providence District Tysons Satellite Office.

Schedule: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9:00–11:00 a.m.
Fall Session: October 6–December 10, 2026
Cost: $85 for the fall session
Registration & Placement: Thursday, September 17, 9:00–10:30 a.m.
Location: Tysons Satellite Office, 7921 Jones Branch Dr., McLean, VA 22102

Participants will build English skills for work, family, and community, including listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The $85 service fee includes books and assessments.

Workforce Development

Providence District is exploring workforce development opportunities with Northern Virginia Family Service/Training Futures, including ways the Tysons Satellite Office may support existing workforce education and training programs. Specific offerings, schedules, and registration information will be added as partnerships are finalized.

Become an Employer Partner

Employers can partner with the Working Families Education Initiative by sharing educational opportunities with employees, helping us understand workforce needs and preferred schedules, and connecting employees with programs that support their personal and professional growth. There is no cost to employers to participate.
