Managed Deer Hunts

Managed Hunts

Managed firearms hunts will not be conducted in the Sully Woodlands area including Elklick Preserve, Halifax District Park, Rock Hill District Park, Mountain Road District Park and Richard W. Jones Park (Pleasant Valley Golf Course) for the 2024-2025 deer season.

Managed hunts will not be conducted for the 2024-2025 deer season.

Managed Hunt Times

All managed hunt participants are to meet at the designated check station at 5:30 a.m. The designated location will be provided during the Safety Brief. Managed hunt participants are to be in assigned tree stands by 6 a.m. The managed hunt will conclude with all participants down from tree stands by 1 p.m.

Hunter Safety Brief

All managed hunt participants are required to attend a 90-minute Hunter Safety Brief prior to participating in the public managed hunt. The designated location, date and time of the safety brief will be provided in the confirmation letter sent to all successful applicants selected via hunt lottery. Important site-specific information will be provided during the safety brief including directions, maps, and safety details.

Attendance is MANDATORY for all participants and will be recorded via sign-in sheet.

If a managed hunt participant is unable or unwilling to attend the Hunter Safety Brief, they will be disqualified from participating in the public Managed Hunt.
