Regional Discharge and Assistance Project
Creative plans using Regional Discharge and Assistance Project (RDAP) funding are jointly authorized by Aftercare Managers from the five CSBs (Alexandria, Arlington, Fairfax-Falls Church, Loudoun, and Prince William).
RDAP plans, which pay for appropriate treatment settings and living expenses as needed, have been pivotal in transitioning multiple consumers from the Northern Virginia Mental Health Institute into the community.

Crisis Stabilization Units
Four regionally-funded Crisis Stabilization Units (CSUs), located in three different counties, have a total capacity of 34 beds. Staff from Emergency Services of the five CSBs (Alexandria, Arlington, Fairfax-Falls Church, Loudoun, and Prince William) place at-risk individuals, many with limited or no financial resources, into these beds as a diversion to or step-down from an inpatient psychiatric hospitalization. Learn about the four programs.
