The Regional I/DD Psychiatry Program, which opened in April 2016, provides critical psychiatric consultation, evaluation and medication management services to adults and children who have Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities (IDD) who also have serious mental illness and/or behavioral challenges. These services are a regional resource for those cases which present with high acuity and/or high complexity and which require a more specialized evaluation and targeted treatment.
Program services are time limited as they will not replace existing resources, but are designed to enhance the existing continuum of psychiatric services. The goal of program services is to work in partnership with individuals and their treatment team to stabilize behavioral health crises and symptoms; facilitate a successful life in the community; and help manage symptom reoccurrence.
Referrals for this program must come through each CSB Director of IDD services or the Medical Director.
