About Fairfax County’s Homelessness Community Engagement and Strategic Plan

We are assessing the programs, initiatives, and partnerships in place to prevent and end homelessness.

First, we will collect input via community engagement activities, including meetings, events, online surveys, and other engagement techniques. All critical parties involved in preventing and ending homelessness will have opportunities to share their input and ideas, including people experiencing homelessness, homeless service providers, the Continuum of Care board, and the community at large.

The resulting information will inform recommended strategies that strengthen the community’s response to homelessness. The final report will be presented to the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors for their consideration.

Assessing the past and planning for the future

In 2007, Fairfax County put forth a 10 Year Plan to prevent and end homelessness, along with a Retrospective report in 2018.

About Oryx Solutions, Our Community Engagement Partner

The Office has partnered with Oryx Solutions to design and conduct an inclusive community engagement process, utilizing the Engage Fairfax County framework.
