apartment buildingOn July 29, 2020, the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors authorized the establishment of the Affordable Housing Preservation Task Force to develop a comprehensive plan to preserve the county’s current stock of committed affordable and "market affordable" housing. After two months of planning, the task force is preparing for its inaugural meeting on Thursday, October 1 at 2pm.

“Our first meeting will largely be centered around establishing a foundational understanding of the group’s mission, timeline, and becoming familiar with several critical guiding policies and initiatives pertaining to the work ahead,” said Judith Cabelli, Fairfax County’s Director of Affordable Housing Development.
