Available for Public Comment

The Fairfax County Proposed HOME-ARP Allocation Plan is now available online for public comment. Fairfax County received an award of $7.88 million in HOME-ARP funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to address homelessness assistance and supportive services.  The County developed a Proposed HOME-ARP Allocation Plan and is seeking community feedback on the Plan.

Funds may be used for 1) development and support of affordable rental housing, 2) tenant-based rental assistance, 3) provision of supportive services, and 4) acquisition and development of non-congregate shelter units.  Qualifying populations to be served under HOME-ARP are: 1) homeless; 2) at risk of homelessness; 3) those fleeing, or attempting to flee, domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking, or human trafficking; and 4) other families requiring services or housing assistance to prevent homelessness, or households at greatest risk of housing instability.

Step 1: Review the Plan

The proposed allocation plan can be accessed online at www.fairfaxcounty.gov/housing/data/HOME-ARP-Allocation-Plan. Physical copies* of these plans will also be made available for review at the information desks at the Fairfax County Government Center (12000 Government Center Parkway, Fairfax), the Gerry Hyland Government Center (8350 Richmond Highway, Alexandria), the Department of Housing and Community Development (3700 Pender Drive, Fairfax), and each Fairfax County Public Library branch.
