Fairfax County Department of Housing and Community Development’s Office to Prevent and End Homelessness (HCD OPEH) terminated its contract with New Hope Housing. The contract ends Sept. 30, 2025. As of October 1, 2025, the county will take over all operations previously managed by New Hope Housing. Services previously provided by New Hope Housing will be transferred to HCD OPEH with minimal service interruption. HCD OPEH recognizes that New Hope Housing staff have persisted with their essential work despite disruptions. HCD OPEH is seeking to keep New Hope Housing staff in their roles with consistent, reliable compensation. Additionally, these individuals are being offered signing bonus incentives to continue working on Fairfax County programs through a temporary staffing agency.
