A reasonable accommodation is a change made to a rule, policy, practice, or service that allows a person living with a disability to have equal access to programs available through the Fairfax County Redevelopment and Housing Authority (FCRHA) and Fairfax County Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD). This change cannot cause a financial or administrative burden or change the fundamental features of the housing program.
The FCRHA and HCD do not discriminate against persons living with disabilities. Applicants or participants living with disabilities may request reasonable accommodations when necessary to ensure equal access to FCRHA/HCD programs or services.
The FCRHA and HCD reviews all reasonable accommodation requests on a case-by-case basis. You may be asked to provide evidence of your disability and the need for the specific accommodation.
More information on Reasonable Accommodations and Modifications in housing can be found on the HUD website: Reasonable Accommodations and Modifications | HUD.gov / U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)
