Senior Housing

Gum Springs Glen

The Fairfax County Redevelopment and Housing Authority (FCRHA) currently owns 10 affordable senior housing communities and two affordable assisted living communities throughout the Fairfax County area.

The FCRHA’s independent living properties typically feature garden style apartment homes. Our senior properties are often located near and/or are co-located with senior centers and other community amenities keeping older adults well-connected with access to a number of engaging programs and activities.

FCRHA’s assisted living communities are licensed and offer meals and daily activities along with available assistance with housekeeping, laundry, medication management and personal assistance.

INDEPENDENT LIVING

Program eligibility may differ slightly depending on the property and the funding program under which particular units are allocated. In general, the following eligibility applies:

  • Age: All properties are available to adults ages 62 and above. Units at Saintsbury Plaza, Atrium at Metro West, and the Crest of Alexandria are available to adults ages 55 and above. Contact each property for inocme and eligibility requirements.

We encourage prospective renters to contact the community they are interested in directly for specific information on the property’s waiting list and its status, vacancies, application process, and an applicant status on the waiting list.

As vacancies become available at each property, they are filled with applicants currently on the community’s waitlist. As the leasing of these properties is not time-limited (tenants may reside at their rental property as long as they meet the program qualifications and leasing requirements) it is impossible to estimate when vacancies will become available.
